Easily one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the history of Victoria, the massive West Gate Tunnel is an enormous city-shaping project that will transform the way Victorians travel.

State-of-the-art technology is being used to build twin tunnels, a new bridge over the Maribyrnong River and additional lanes on the West Gate Freeway.

A project of this enormity is a significant challenge. Crews have worked through some very complex construction problems to get this impressive site ready. 

The photographs by HiVis Pictures document the work in progress and feature the engineering, machinery, technology and people building what will be an iconic and historic piece of infrastructure for Melbourne, Victoria.
