The Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project demonstrates how rail corridors can be transformed into vital public recreational space.
Nine level crossings were removed and replaced with ‘rail-overs’, where the rail line is elevated above the existing corridor, opening up previously unavailable public areas, and creating opportunities for community use and connection.
HiVis Pictures produced a series of stills that show how progressive development of the rail network and removal of road crossings created more green spaces and parklands.
The gallery highlights the dedication and commitment of those who worked on the project, and shows how these world-class projects were built safely, built well and built in record time.
